Assessments

Assessments – These 1:1 assessments evaluate a student’s abilities across the relevant content standards for their grade and provide a detailed report for parents.

Take Home Plans – In addition to a report on the student’s skills, I also provide a take home plan to empower parents with the ability to supplement math education at home.

Instruction

Small Group Classes (4 students) – Using Everyday Mathematics as a base curriculum, these classes reinforce the elementary school math content standards through creative games and play with the goal of boosting comfortability and confidence. Students are grouped based on their skill level to maximize productivity in the classroom.

Math Pairs (2 students) – Like the small group classes, these pairs are comprised of students roughly at the same level and emphasize the content standards through games, but also include targeted lessons designed to either reinforce or accelerate curriculum at school.

1:1 Tutoring – These 1:1 sessions are individualized instruction and are generally reserved for students who need intervention. For the most part in K-3, I believe in the power of social interaction to make math learning fun and engaging for those at and above grade level, but at times (either for intervention or extra enrichment purposes), 1:1 instruction makes sense.
